We are seeking an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join a complex, high-performing environment within one of New Zealand’s leading financial institutions. This is a 3-month contract opportunity with an immediate start, providing support across two key squads.

The ideal candidate will have prior contracting experience and can quickly take ownership of existing workload while also contributing to future project streams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain critical infrastructure and applications across two squads
• Perform Linux and Windows server administration, including patching and updates
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application reliability and performance
• Contribute to security infrastructure and design where required
• Assist in backlog remediation and ongoing project support

Skills and Experience Required:

• Proven experience in Linux Administration (RHEL) – RHCE certification strongly preferred
• Solid Windows Administration experience
• Strong Application Support background within complex enterprise environments, preferably in the financial sector
• In-depth knowledge of networking, including on-premise and cloud-based virtual networking
• Hands-on experience with observability tools, ideally Elasticsearch and Kibana (ELK Stack)
• Strong infrastructure background with a focus on security best practices

Desirable:

• Background in security infrastructure and design
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned SRE professional to contribute to a complex and critical environment. The contract may be extended based on performance and project demand.
