About the Role

You’ll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable software systems — including APIs, integrations, and web applications — using best-practice development approaches. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and other developers to deliver reliable, well-engineered solutions that meet business needs.

The project would be building out a new platform utilising Payload CMS which would be hosted on Vercel.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain modern web and backend applications using React, Node.js, or Go, and MongoDB.
• Design and implement APIs and microservices hosted on AWS.
• Write clean, secure, and efficient code following best practices.
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives in an agile environment.
• Conduct code reviews and mentor intermediate team members.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Bring

• 3–5+ years of commercial software development experience.
• Proficiency in React, Node.js and/or Go, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of modern development practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Experience with agile delivery and collaboration tools.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Right to work in New Zealand and able to pass a Ministry of Justice check.
