We are partnering with our client, a large and complex enterprise organisation, to secure a highly experienced Senior Security Engineer for a contract engagement.
This is a hands-on role within a mature Internet Protection function. You will play a key role in shaping, optimising and supporting enterprise-grade proxy, zero trust and internet security platforms in a high-availability environment.
About the Role As a Senior Security Engineer, you will act as a subject matter expert across Internet Protection and Zero Trust technologies. You will provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on across design, deployment, optimisation and operational support.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to enhance security posture, improve automation, and ensure systems remain resilient, scalable and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, deployment and optimisation of internet and proxy security platforms
- Provide SME support across Proxy, Zero Trust and related security controls
- Lead technical response for incidents, problems and security events
- Drive automation of manual processes using scripting and DevOps practices
- Enhance observability, monitoring and system reliability
- Influence security architecture and operational strategy
- Ensure compliance with risk, audit and regulatory requirements
- Manage lifecycle planning, roadmaps and technology uplift initiatives
- Mentor and guide engineers within the squad
- Participate in a 24x7 on-call roster
Skills & Experience Required - 10+ years’ experience in enterprise IT systems and operations
- 5+ years’ experience in infrastructure security within large environments
- Strong experience with Internet Protection and Zero Trust technologies, including:
- Zscaler
- ProxySG / Blue Coat
- DLP
- Email security
- Remote access security
- Proven automation capability using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible or similar
- Advanced incident response and threat investigation capability
- Strong troubleshooting skills across enterprise security and infrastructure platforms
- Experience leading projects and mentoring engineers
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Relevant tertiary qualifications and industry certifications are advantageous.
