We are undergoing an exciting evolution and need a strategic
Metadata Specialist to join us for a high-impact, 4–6 month engagement.
The Mission Following a significant restructure, we have elevated the importance of data across our business. You will be the "consultant-in-residence," working closely with our Head of Data and Analytics to break down silos between our core digital platforms.
Your goal isn't just to archive; it’s to build a practical, future-proof classification system that ensures our digital assets are working as hard as they can.
What You’ll Do
- Audit & Align: Analyze 3-4 distinct systems with conflicting legacy classifications and create a single, unified metadata framework.
- Practical Governance: Take an existing architectural vision and test its compatibility against our tech stack, identifying trade-offs and best practices.
- Influence & Discovery: Act as a bridge between the data team (Analysts and Curators) and our IT/Digital counterparts to ensure the system is technically sound.
- Metadata Strategy: Define exactly what our metadata is, how we attach it, and which tags will best drive searchability.
Who You Are You are a specialist in the
Information Management / Content Operations space who understands the "why" behind the data.
- The Consultant Mindset: You are an influencer who can navigate a "discovery" phase and provide expert guidance to direct stakeholders.
- Technical Literacy: You understand how metadata flows through CMS, DAM, and OTT/Streaming platforms. Experience with standards like Dublin Core or Schema.org is highly valued.
- Communication: You are direct, articulate, and comfortable working in a culturally significant organization.
- Agility: You can hit the ground running. We need someone who can assess the landscape quickly and start building.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience designing or implementing taxonomy frameworks and governance models.
- Hands-on experience with Digital Asset Management (DAM) or complex CMS environments.
- Consistent on-site presence to build vital connections.
- Experience in Media, VOD, or Broadcast is a plus, but your technical metadata skillset is the priority.
Why Join Us? This is a high-visibility role where your work will directly influence how our stories are found and told. You’ll be part of a supportive team of 3-5 specialists, working in a fast-paced but culturally grounded environment.
