The Opportunity
IT Support Engineer (Level 1) – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract


We are currently seeking a Level 1 IT Support Engineer to join a well-established professional services organisation in Auckland on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, user-facing environment, providing high-quality frontline IT support and ensuring a smooth technology experience for staff. You will be the first point of contact for IT support, assisting users with day-to-day technical issues, troubleshooting problems, and ensuring tickets are managed and resolved efficiently.

About the Role
As the Level 1 Support Engineer, you will provide responsive and professional support across core workplace technologies while maintaining strong ticket management and documentation standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Acting as the first point of contact for IT support requests
  • Logging, categorising, and resolving incidents and service requests via the ticketing system
  • Troubleshooting Windows devices, laptops, peripherals, and standard applications
  • Supporting Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel
  • Preparing equipment and completing joiner, mover, and leaver tasks
  • Assisting with meeting room technology and presentation issues
  • Escalating more complex technical issues to senior support teams when required
  • Maintaining clear and accurate ticket notes, documentation, and knowledge articles
About You


You will bring a strong customer service mindset and enjoy helping users solve technical issues in a professional environment.
To be successful you will have:
  • Experience in a Service Desk or IT Support role (Level 1)
  • Basic troubleshooting experience across Windows endpoints and Microsoft 365
  • Experience using IT ticketing systems and managing support requests
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to support non-technical users
  • Good attention to detail with ticket documentation and follow-up
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritise workloads
Desirable
  • Exposure to ITIL or structured IT service management environments
  • Experience supporting professional services or corporate environments
  • Entry-level IT qualifications or certifications (or currently studying)
