About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support a diverse client base across Timaru. This role combines office-based work with regular client visits, giving you variety and autonomy in your day-to-day.

You’ll be working across Microsoft environments and networking infrastructure, troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving client systems while building strong relationships.

There’s also an on-call component

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver expert support across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and cloud platforms
• Manage and troubleshoot networking environments (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs)
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing clear communication and solutions
• Handle escalations and complex technical issues
• Contribute to documentation, standards, and continuous improvement

Skills & Experience Must-Have

• Proven experience in a New Zealand MSP environment
• Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure)
• Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Confident, professional client-facing presence
